Born 1966, David Nolan studied in the College of Marketing and Design. Worked in animation until setting up his own design company, The Housekeeper. After moving to France in early 2004, David started painting oils for the first time with the Peintres du Gaillacois, Tarn SW France and after returning to live in Ireland in early 2007 he did a portrait of the Rev. Ian Paisley, which is now hanging in Stormont Belfast as the official portrait of him.
He continues to paint in oils, doing portraits and what he calls portraits of Dublin…cityscapes painted ‘Plein air’ or in his studio from reference photographs.
