Dublin born, self-taught Encaustic Artist Niamh O'Connor has an obsession with the smell, texture and lusciousness of beeswax and uses it in all her art practices.
Working in American and European approaches (that’s molten wax painting & wax ironing to you & me), Niamh's Encaustic creations are born from an intuitive & emotional place and fed by inspirations coming from all about her, the magnificent drumlins of her adopted County Monaghan, Irish politics, her children and the wonders that fall from their pockets and her interest in autobiographical imagery.
Niamh's works are currently held in private collections here in Ireland, the UK, France and Belgium. She works primarily from her home space lovingly called "This Little Studio" and teaches Encaustic technique workshops by request.
