Nicky Hooper, artist and designer, lives and work in Dublin.
"I would describe myself primarily as a painter, but like to approach each of my projects individually as I have found there is not always a sole solution to a single problem. To this end I have worked in paint, neon, stitching, steel, powder coated aluminium, perspex, wood, resin, plaster and found objects. I like to toy with fragments of everyday and often banal or overlooked images, a discarded photograph, a snippet from a newspaper, a scrap of paper found on the pavement and reduce them to their simplest forms. I have exhibited widely here in Ireland and abroad trying to make the world a more colourful place."
