Paul D'Arcy was born (1967) in Dublin , Ireland and spent his childhood in South Africa and Namibia. He has been working as a full time artist the past twenty five years and has travelled extensively throughout Europe , India , Australia and New Zealand. At the moment Paul is working on a collection of paintings for a large solo exhibition, which will be part of Dublin’s Culture Night and Theatre Festival in September 2013. Eggs are an integral part of Paul D’Arcy’s art and motifs. He now lives and works in the seaside town of Skerries – Ireland.

Paul's work forms part of public collections including Office of Public Works , Fingal County Council , Fitzpatrick Hotel Group , Great Southern Hotel Group , Drogheda Port and Docks, Guinness Ireland , Irish Blood Transfusion Service. Private Collectors include: Bono - U2 , Mary Bannotti and many more in Ireland , England , Italy & USA.

The composition of Paul's egg consists a baby floating simultaneously in space and water. The baby holds a dandelion , which is giving birth to a planet observed by a quizzical man ; the actor Brendan Gleeson. Part of the background in this painting consists of a stellar phenomenon know as the ‘Pillars of Creation’ which was photographed by the Hubble spacecraft in 1995.

These columns are interstellar hydrogen gas and dust that act as incubators for new stars. Inside these are globules of denser gas. These are called EGGs (acronym for "Evaporating Gaseous Globules"). Inside some of the EGGs stars are being formed. The purpose of the work is to convey the relationship all things have to each other and in doing so inspire awe for all life and a spiritual connection.
