Her interest in art goes back to her childhood, where her extraordinary talent was easily recognised. Thelma has always loved the seashore and has a long and happy relationship with Connemara.
She left RTE in the late nineties to pursue a career in painting and with a distinctive style and bold use of colour, she has rapidly made her name as an artist. Her love of the coastline and seashore continues to be a constant inspiration and she delights in capturing the ever changing light and mood.
